Books I read in June

There are two books that I read in June that touched my heart. They are PS. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern and For One More Day by Mitch Albom. By coincidence (and I just realized this), I read both of them in a row and both of them tells about the story of the beloved one who has passed away and somehow they are "back" for a while to give an unforgettable memory for their family. As you can guess, at some part I read them in tears, there are many wise words and beautiful proverbs there. For One More Day I was in tears reading the part where Charley Benetton said he didn't want to lose his mother again. But his mother said "You can't lose your mother, Charley. I am right here". ~ It reminds me of my own mother and all the people I love. I guess what Charley's mom said is right. You may lost the sight of your loved ones but you will never lose their love. PS I Love You One of the sentence that touched me is when Holly received a message from Gerry, his la...

Experiencing A380

About Great Britain

It is called Great Britain because it is the biggest island among all European island and British isles I visited several cities in GB namely London, Norwich, Bath and Windsor. Everything is expensive here. 100 USD is equivalent to 60 GBP only. And nothing is free except daily newspaper perhaps. If you want to use internet in the hotel usually they charge us 10 GBP for 24 hours usage. Nevertheless, the scenery of the cities is inevitably beautiful. Their houses, museums, landmarks, national heritages are all highly maintaid. I admire their effort to preserve all of this. The people are stiff like a stick :) very much different with Indonesian who are warm and friendly even to strangers The weather is unpredictable. Sometimes it rains and in the next hour the sun shines so bright. But I love the coolness, around 18 degree Celcius Stores and shops close at 9 PM or even earlier. They have shorter opening hours on Sunday. You can always see a park. I hope Jakarta can be like this someday....

London

I am now in London. Alhamdulillah... after a long challenging, sometimes annoying, most of the time exhausting, I finally had a chance to visit London again. This is my second time to go here after more than 10 years ago I visited this place with my father. This time I am going to participate in an international workshop related with poverty and forestry. Not only participating, I have a task to identify key points of all the presentations in the workshop and try to figure out the policy implications of each research presentation. Again, I always believe in dreaming :) I am a daydream person and I like to have imagination. One of my dream of course (as a Sagittarian) is to travel, to venture the world. Not too long though, as I can't stay far away from my son for a long period. So when one day there was an opportunity of funding from my office, I braved myself to apply. After a long pause, I received a positive reply. The fund manager said yes. At first I wanted to apply to a train...
