Lone Wolf

Just learned a new word: Lone Wolf. From Wikipedia: As a person, a lone wolf is an individual who prefers solitude , is introverted , or who works alone. In literature, lone wolves are aloof and emotionally unable or unwilling to directly interact with other characters in the story. A stereotypical lone wolf will be dark or serious in personality; they are often taciturn, and will distinguish themselves through their reserved nature. From the media : Teroris yang bertindak sendiri dan tak berafiliasi dengan organisasi internasional.

54yur.com

Nowadays, can you mention a thing that you cannot buy online? I think the answer is getting narrower. I just found an online store, www.54yur.com , that sells about anything that you can cook in the kitchen! From vegetables, fruits, traditional spices, coconut milk, you name it, and it will be delivered right into your front door! I am tempted to try but I dont know if their service has reached the outer skirt of Jakarta. pictures are from www.54yur.com
Cheese pizza that we ordered (and enjoyed a lot) on the weekend. I forgot the name of the pizza counter but it was located in Bogor Junction, a building near Bogor Permai, the famous bakery store.
I have a secret admiration towards guys with dark skin, like my husband (hahaha!) I remember in my high school I have a huge crush on Scottie Pippen (now that I think about it I should ask my younger self to reconsider :) :)) and now I also fancy Kamga , a talented singer from the vocal group, Tangga. Not only that he has a good face, but he also, among the other personnel of Tangga, has a great voice. I once met him in a dentist (yes, he is a Bogorian as well) and we sat next to each other. I was speechless. Now I regret it, I should just ask to take a picture together with him (well at that time, phone cameras have not been a hit though) or ask for him to sign on my shirt (hahaha!)  Anyways, good luck with your career Kamga , God speed!
I feel like I have so many things in my head now yet so little time to blurt it all out. I have so many books that I want to read but I end up browsing my phone because I can't decide which one to read first. Today I feel so energetic yet can't deny the fact that I didn't do anything effectively. Why? Is this because I have difficulty in concentrating? For so many years I multitasked in work. Maybe this is one of the implications. I feel that I can't finish everything because I want to finish everything. Altogether. And due to the (what we thought) multitask work, I can be easily distracted. Parah. Maybe this is time for me to try to relax and concentrate. Make a list of what I want to do today and try to work on it one by one. Hopefully I can meet my target even better. Good night!!

Perfect Two

One song from the Acoustic album that instantly caught my interest is this song from Auburn , Perfect Two . LOVE the lyric so much. Love the simple rhythm ! Simple but melting. Huhuhu... I miss my husband! :) You can be the peanut butter to my jelly You can be the butterflies I feel in my belly You can be the captain and I can be your first mate You can be the chills that I feel on our first date You can be the hero and I can be your side kick You can be the tear that I cry if we ever split You can be the rain from the cloud when it's stormin' Or you can be the sun when it shines in the mornin' [Hook 1:] Don't know if I could ever be Without you 'cause boy you complete me And in time I know that we'll both see That we're all we need [Hook 2:] 'Cause you're the apple to my pie (pie) You're the straw to my berry (berry) You're the smoke to my high (high) And you're the one I wanna marry (marry) [Chorus:] '...

Music saves my soul

I guess I always believe in that old wisdom. Without music I don't think I will survive working the whole day in the office, full and bright. I always need my headphone in the office to listen to radios or just some clips in YouTube (sorry IT people I eat huge bytes everyday! *innocence look*) and I always turn on the stereo in my car. Otherwise I'll go nuts. Or worse, I'll sleep :)) So today while waiting for @omjambul to settle the payment of our new AC (yes, Bogor is not a friendly rainy city anymore unfortunately) I took Razki to Disc Tarra, a music store in Botani Square. When browsing through the best seller section, I saw a set of two CDs called the Acoustic album . This CD instantly caught my eyes, first because of its cover album of course and 2nd because it is acoustic. I only planned to buy the Acoustic 1st edition but, bummer, one staff there said that there is a 2nd edition of the Acoustic album (called Acoustic 2 of course) and said that the song list is be...

Short reflection

I think this month is the most productive month of the year 2013 for me to write in my blog. Yippe happy! Although I don't write long post (I somehow have trouble READING and WRITING long text haha!) but I consider this as one of my best achievement this year :) suddenly I just feel like I have so many things to tell and share regardless of my clumsy English, pardon me :) So hope you enjoy reading my blog so far. I can't promise it to be interesting as sometimes I just posted something that is suddenly pop out of my head but I can say that this blog is the most naked part of me that I show to public. Enjoy! :)
My favourite TV show at the moment. No spoiler please!
“I’m a public figure, I’m not a public toilet,” she says. “Look, as a public figure I have a responsibility to you concerning what I do in public. But there should be respect there. That is why we have doors and locks, and curtains on the windows. There are some things in life that are meant to be kept private. Otherwise we would all live on a soccer field. ”   Sarah Sechan for Jakarta Post

A pleasure of being a parent

Today was Independence Day celebration in Razki's playgroup school. Parents were invited to watch their children participate in various fun games. I have to go to work as usual, but after I dropped Razki at school I decided to stay a bit longer to watch him compete. It was fun. I watched him join a game where he has to move water from a big bowl to a bottle where the distant of the bowl and bottle was quite far so he needs to walk or run first. He got the 1st place for the 1st round and 3rd place for the 2nd round. The win part was nothing for me but to watch his excitement is priceless. Now I understand. I understand the indescribable feeling of watching your own child grow up. Realizing that he is not a baby anymore. He can walk, jump, run, and play with friends. He doesn't run to your arms so he feels secure anymore or cry to get your attention, now he just look back at you from his shoulder and wave happily saying goodbye a...

Tegel

I am in love with this type of floor cement tile. We used to call it tegel. The classy yet modest look makes this floor tile becomes even more elegant. I love the historical tegel in old Dutch building. Too bad nowadays those tegel are being replaced with a more modern look like ceramics. The uniqueness of a tegel is that the older it gets, the glossier it looks. There are not many supplier of tegel, and if there are, the price is quite expensive. Hopefully someday I can apply it to my own place :)

Berdampak sistemik

Since the case of Century Bank emerged, I am curious (but too lazy) to understand the definitions that often mentioned by newscaster such as bailout and "berdampak sistemik". Because I was soo sleepy this morning and my headphone (my survivor during work) was borrowed I browsed those two words and arrived in this blog . So here are some explanations about the above definitions. Thanks!

We never know

I had a really worrisome days last week. My period schedule was suddenly changed and it made me anxious because I have never experienced this after getting married. After 6 days late, I decided to use a testpack. Fortunately, the sign was negative and in the next two days it finally arrived. It doesn't mean that I will not feel blessed if I do get pregnant, but being very honest, I am not ready yet. After having two wonderful boys, my husband and I don't have any plan in the near future to add one more amid the pressure from our relatives to try one more time to have a girl (!) We just want to concentrate raising these boys, having fun with them and take a break from changing diapers and breastfeeding :)       But somehow last week gave me a really good lesson: that I shouldn't be cocky, that we can plan all the things that we want to do perfectly, but eventually it is God who has the ultimate decision. So it is a reminder for myself to be humble and be cauti...

Summer day in Berkeley

One day during my last week staying in Berkeley I felt so bored and tired with the nonstop classes that I decided to rush out and hit the grass. It was a very nice sunny day with soft breeze. I joined the people basking under the sun. It was one of the best me-time. I finished one book at that time. :)
Sometimes I want to repeat my honeymoon with @omjambul. Our first honeymoon, like any other newly weds, was in Bali and one place that I instantly fell in love was Ubud. Ubud brings calmness that I couldn't explain in words. If I were to go to Ubud, I want to try to stay at this place, Alila Ubud Hotel .
I'm a shoe lover. Whenever I see shoes and they are affordable my heart just melts. Like this one from Kulkith .
Am in love with Etalage . I don't know yet who the owner is but my sense it has something to do with Fitrop (Fitri Tropica) young and famous Indonesian celebrity *wink* First caught it on Instagram, my favourite stalking place for online shops and since then I regularly visited this place. I will definitely buy something from here but I am too confused now to choose which one I mostly like. Most probably, I will not buy only one :)

The Hangover

Since the boys slept early tonight, I switched through the TV channels and out of the blue I chose to watch this movie, The Hangover . I thought it was a recent released movie *bahaha* when husband said that there were already two sequels of this movie. So, this was a 2009 movie about four friends who had decided to, instead of going to Napa, went to Las Vegas for celebrating Doug's last bachelor nights. The party made a life-changing experience for them. They got way too drunk and could not remember what happened on the night of the party and find themselves the next day in total trouble. They had a tiger in their bathroom, a baby in the closet, a missing tooth, a gangster hitting their car, and above all, the missing of the most important person, Doug! It was hilarious! I laughed in most of the scenes. When you thought things cannot be any worse, this movie gives you unpredictable yet funny surprise! I think it gives you a good lesson too though...

68th years

You may hate the government, but not the country. The country that has given you food since you were born, land for you to stand on, opportunities as well as challenges to help you grow.   Bless Indonesia.   I love you and I proud to be Indonesian.

It is almost a month since I've done the course and I haven't finished the trip report! Alert! Mayday! Need to finish it this week. I have too! *posh posh* Update - 16/08/2013: Finally done my trip repot! Yippie!!!

The Evolution of Dad Dancing

Before, I thought there was only a video of "The Evolution of Mom Dancing" where Michelle Obama was featured together with Jimmy Fallon at the Late Night Jimmy Fallon show as part of Michelle's health campaign "Let's Move ". But then when I checked YouTube tonight, I noticed that there is another dance video called very similar "The Evolution of Dad Dancing". It was hilarious! I tried not to laugh myself out watching Jimmy Fallon dance. Totally entertained. Do watch! :)

Thank you Alaya!

I actually didn't expect anybody whom I send postcard to post it on their blog or mention it on the social media but whenever they did it always make me super happy! One is from my favorite blogger and writer, Alaya Setya . I have been following her I think since 2007 or 2008? Especially after she and her friends wrote a book "The Traveler's Tale". I really wish she would write a book again, maybe a compilation of her blog posts? :)  hehehe.. ditunggu ya Al! Anyway, sending postcard to me, has a different kind of way in keeping in touch with your friends and loved ones. It is more personal instead of only saying hi in Facebook or Twitter. To me at least, it makes me feel special. That's why I am always excited whenever I received a postcard. It doesn't take much effort and relatively cheap but the memories stay longer, hopefully forever! Let's keep sending them!

ART jilid 2

Alhamdulillah... setelah negosiasi a lot antara @omjambul and sang ART, akhirnya simbak mau juga balik lagi ke Bogor. Fyuh. Nafas lega banget. *tarik napas panjang* we'll see how it goes!

ART...oh ART

Just heard a not-so-good news fro @omjambul. Our household assistant, the younger one, decided to stay longer in her hometown aka she quits. Like normal working mother this news just simply gave me a headache. Thank goodness I am still on leave for this week. But the question becomes, what now? So both @omjambul and I opened up our old "yellow pages" of list of agents who provide household assistant or baby sitter. My husband still tried to persuade her to come back at least for a month before we find a new one, but me being skeptical, I don't think at this point she'll take the offer. So fingers crossed, lets hope for the best to find a replacement. As soon as possible.

Indonesia Raya in World Badminton Championship 2013

Indonesia Raya in World Badminton Championship 2013. I cannot be more proud and touched watching Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan earned the gold medal and to listen our national anthem "Indonesia Raya" played in front of international audience. I can't hold back my tears, to be honest :) You might hate the government, but you shall never hate your country. Congratulations Ahsan, Hendra, Liliyana "Butet" and Tontowi! You guys rock!! bola.liputan6.com

Idul Fitri 1434 H

In this holy month of Ramadan, my family and I would like to humbly apologize for any mistakes we have done, intended or not. As we always feel when it comes to the 1st of Syawal month, may we all be blessed by Allah's blessing and like my friend from Mali posted in Facebook said: May Allah grant us healthy and happy life. Allahuakbar!

Camp David and Shangri-La

Starting from watching an action movie on my way back home from the US, The Olympus Has Fallen, I was curious to know what is Camp David. Why? Because in this movie, Camp David was pictured as a gloomy place to live (maybe because the setting was in the evening and it was snowing). It was interesting to read the short information about it in Wikipedia . The original name of Camp David was Hi-Catoctin. Then it was changed by Franklin D. Roosevelt to Shangri-La (which made me browse the name Shangri-La and it was said again in Wikipedia that this name is "often used in a similar context to " Garden of Eden ", to represent a paradise hidden from modern man"). But then, interestingly, Dwight D. Eisenhower  changed the name Shangri-La into Camp David, simply to honor his father and grandson whose name are David. The middle "D" in Dwight's name is also stands for David :) I am really curious how Camp David looks like. I hope it is not gloomy like in th...

Ridwan Kamil - young inspirational figure

I don't know why for the last few weeks I really enjoyed watching videos from YouTube. Either talkshow from Oprah, Barack Obama's speech from the White House, videoclips, and now TEDx Jakarta. Just now, I watched a TEDxJakarta which presented Ridwan Kamil, now the mayor of Bandung, capital city of West Java, Indonesia. I was totally in awe, not because of his educational background (although he was graduated from ITB and UC Berkeley) but on his principals of life, his passions and his visions and plan on how to make Indonesia a better place. I like his ideas of providing more public space in the city and "enerbike", a bike which can produce electricity so villagers don't have to depend on the public electricity company (PLN) anymore. One that I adore from him is that no matter how often you travel and visit other countries in the end it is your country that you have to develop. Indonesia tetap menjadi tempat yang terbaik bagi saya, that's what he said. I could...
Sometimes we need this kind of dosage to fully live our life :)
