A date

Yesterday I spent almost the whole day with my husband. After a seminar in IPB we wandered around Bogor for lunch and ended up in Old Town White Coffee. I have been here once and thought the food are delicious. So I ordered Egg Chicken Noodles and husband Curry Mie. We addes it up with a set of White Coffee Freeze and Hazelnut Coffee and Garlic Butter Toast. Husband loves the food, me too! Much recommended for those who want to find a place to chillax with a bit of European ambience.
What I learned today: 1) Definition of human ecology 2) What drift net is 3) The meaning of Ivy League (group of top 8 universities in US which I would love to be affiliated with in whichever ways possible!) 4) Bagas likes lamps 5) Bagas likes sweet crackers 6) Razki can lock the key by himself 7) Shrimps are priced at IDR 35-45K 8) That you should always think twice when you want to buy a car and loan to the bank :)

Tri Rismaharini

Bu Tri Rismaharini is definitely one of a kind. I believe she inspires many people as she inspired me.
Lately I feel I have been lacking knowledge of my religion. I want to know more but by attending some session on Kajian Islam. Do any of you know where I can get the information?

My treasure

I just cleaned up the house from their toys. A small plastic guitar. Green soccer ball. Bowling pins. Steering wheel with a honk that squeaks. Puzzle. Trains. And more  trains. Two animal hats. Giraffe for Razki and elephant for Bagas. And watch them sleeping tonight, near me. I feel like the happiest person in the world.
Bagas' favorite snack. I wish I can be as healthy as him.
My favorite day of the week. Saturday. You are always looking forward for it and you feel glad that tomorrow is still holiday. :) Happy weekend people!

Mere Matkadevi

Just finished reading this book written by Tulus who happened to be one of my sister's close friends. Mere Matkadevi is a compilation of short stories that Tulus wrote in his blog . I adore his ability to rhyme words and his strong sense of using modest yet deep words. The stories written are mostly about the reality of life: birth and death, the feeling of lost, being faraway from your loved ones, and a lot about mothers :) I can see how Tulus implicitly reflect his feeling to his mother, his respect to women. Perhaps that is why a woman is showed in the book cover. Overall, it was a refreshing reading for me. Tulus successfully shows his signature and originality as a newcomer. Looking forward to read more Tulus! :)
A happy day, going out to Taman Safari Indonesia with school mates.

Soekarno's speech in IPB

Following my previous post about Sukarno, I randomly found this speech by Soekarno which was delivered in 1952 during the launch(?) of Agricultural Faculty of, at that time, University of Indonesia (now known as IPB). Soekarno known as a very good orator intentionally wrote this speech because he wanted the future generation able to read his speech. I was surprised by how he already predicted that we (Indonesia) need to increase our food production, in particular, rice. He suggested to expand the rice field beyond Java but with careful attention on selecting the location of the rice fields. Soekarno knew that in most places in Kalimantan it is almost impossible to create rice fields as the soil character is not suitable to plant one and the forest must be sacrificed which, according to Soekarno, was not an option. It was a very good speech indeed. You can download it here: http://seafast.ipb.ac.id/article/Pidato-Bung-Karno_Peletakan-Batu-Pertama.pdf

Soekarno

Two weeks ago, still in holiday mood, both me and my friend went to the cinema (note: I haven't watched movies in cinemas perhaps for a year!!) and watched Soekarno . As usual different opinions arose from people who have watched the movie. Some were disappointed as they expected more of Soekarno as a president instead of a dillematic husband . But for some other, and this includes me, I was satisfied watching the movie. Hanung Bramantyo did a brilliant move by showing the imperfection of Soekarno as a normal human being. He really paid attention into details. Choosing the actors (Ario Bayu, ehm! and oh, the actress who act as Fatmawati too), source: http://www.21cineplex.com/star/ario-bayu,668.htm the dialects, the setting of locations, style of the saucer and tea cup. I love the details. I hope these kind of Indonesian movies can show up more often in cinemas so that younger generation can understand the history of our country. As we all know, histor...

Happy anniversary husband
